The 2020-2025 Federal Health IT Strategic Plan has been released for public view and comment, and – believe it or not – it’s very interesting. Prepared by The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, it’s a short document by government standards. Only 20 pages (excluding the appendix). The strategic plan offers a clear appraisal of the challenges facing healthcare, succinctly states their objectives for the coming 5 years, and present throughout are the ideas of patient empowerment and healthcare consumerism.
If you have the chance, give it a read. Send them your comments. Share it with your friends. The National Coordinator for Health IT, Donald W. Rucker, M.D., states perfectly in his introductory letter the feeling you will walk away with after reading: the future of healthcare is promising.
